Golfers 7th in Sectional; VanNess Advances to Regional

The BCHS golfers ended their season with a 7th place finish in the IHSAA Sectional at Cascades Golf Course on Monday. The Eagles posted a 428, six strokes better than their 18 hole scoring average heading into the event. Eagle junior Lilly VanNess continued her outstanding play, firing an 80, the third best score in the field. With the performance, VanNess qualified for the IHSAA Regional scheduled for Saturday, September 23 at The Legends Golf Course in Franklin. Allison Stogsdill, currently playing golf at Hanover College, was the last Eagle golfer to make it to the Regional in 2019. Only one Brown County female golfer has ever made it out of the Regional and qualified for the IHSAA State Tournament - Emma Bawinkel in in 2016. Other BCHS scores: Chloe Poling 111, Savannah Poling 113, Caitlin Seet 124, and Caitlynn Lookebill 137. Tournament Results: Bloomington South 358; Columbus East 368; Martinsville 379; Columbus North 384; Edgewood 417; Indian Creek 426; Brown County 428; Bloomington North 434; Edinburgh 440; and Owen Valley 462.
