Brown County High School junior standout Lilly VanNess wrapped up her golf season Saturday in the IHSAA Regional held at The Legends Golf Course in Franklin. VanNess got off to a strong start and was one over par after the first six holes. Some wayward tee shots caused her some problems the last twelve holes, and she finished with a very respectable 88. VanNess was only the fourth BCHS female golfer to advance to the Regional. Allison Stogsdill (2019), Emma Bawinkel (2016), and Ashley Masteller (2016) preceded her. Bawinkel is the only one to qualify for the state tournament. In addition to claiming the top individual spot in the Western Indiana Conference Championships, VanNess earned medalist honors in most of the team's regular season dual and tri-matches. Center Grove High School posted a 300 to win the team title at The Legends Saturday. Floyd Central finished second, recording a 311, while Franklin Community turned in a 314 and grabbed the third spot.
