The boys track team got their season underway Wednesday evening with their one and only indoor meet of the season @Indiana University. The meet, hosted by Bloomington North, had some of the best competition in central indiana. The meet was split up into big school and small school divisions. The finishes for the Eagles were compiled against various other small schools across the state. The top 24 finishers in each event qualify for the HSR/Indoor State meet on March 25th at IU. From last night, there appear to be a few performances by the Eagles that could make the finals. Teams have until March 19 to qualify in the top 24. The DMR team of Chase Austin, Ethan Williams, Rafe Silbaugh, and Cord Smith clocked a time of 11:40.60 which currently has them in the 7th position. Austin also ran in the 3200 where he clocked a personal-best time of 9:53.50. Austin currently sits in 5th on the small school 3200 list. The 4x400 team of Silbaugh, Charlie Webb, Case Smith, and Cord Smith are right on the bubble as they sit in 24th with their performance of 3:55.04. The Eagles will have to wait until March 19 when the qualifying is over to see if they make it in. The Eagles go on Spring Break next week but look forward to their first outdoor meet just around the corner on April 4th at Bloomington North.
