Season Ends for Golfers with 8th Place Sectional Finish

By Brad Baughman | Jun 10, 2025 8:48 AM

The Eagles competed in the IHSAA Sectional Monday, June 9, at Cascades Golf Course and posted a 359, good for 8th place in the twelve-team sectional. The 359 was 19 strokes better than the 378 recorded by the Eagles a month earlier on the same course in the Western Indiana Conference Championship event. Leading the Eagles' sectional pursuit was junior Cash Harden with an 83. Other BCHS scores: Wesley Arndt 91, Noah Lewis 91, Liam Cassiday 94, and Colbie VanZuiden 96. "While the course was extremely wet, the fact that we were playing lift, clean, and place through the general area ensured that we should never have a bad lie. That should have worked in the golfers' favor all day," said Eagle coach Brad Baughman. "The 359 could have been better, but the score was still 13 strokes better than our 18 hole season average. One of our goals every season is to be better at the end of the season than we were at the beginning of the season, and we accomplished that again this year," added Baughman. The Eagles will say farewell to seniors Jackson Daugherty, Noah Lewis, Liam Cassiday, and Wesley Arndt. They will return some key players from the roster and may add some promising players moving up from the middle school, so the future of the program remains stable. 2025 Sectional Results: Bloomington South 306, Bedford North Lawrence 308, Bloomington North 312, Seymour 321, Edgewood 322, Brownstown Central 333, Salem 348, Brown County 359, West Washington 362, Trinity Lutheran 377, Owen Valley 382, Light House Christian 480. Individual Medalist - Colton Watson, Bloomington South High School, (70)
