The Brown County High School girls golf team fell to Eastern Greene High School 237 to 249 in their season opener Thursday, August 14, at Salt Creek Golf Retreat. Four of the six Eagles, juniors Nevaeh Caito, Maggie Gredy, and Cami Keaton, and sophomore Jazmyn Kolacz were playing their first nine holes of competitive golf. Senior Chloe Poling led the Eagles with a 57, while junior Caitlynn Lookebill carded a 59. The Eastern Greene match was supposed to have been the third match of the week for the Eagles, but heavy rain postponed the Tuesday tri-match with Edgewood and Brownstown Central, and a communications glitch sidelined their match with Edinburgh scheduled for Wednesday. Other BCHS scores: Cami Keaton 63, Jazmyn Kolacz 70, Maggie Gredy 71, and Nevaeh Caito 71. Next up for the Eagles is a Thursday, August 21 match with Bloomington South at StoneCrest Golf Course in Bedford. It is now scheduled to start at 5:00 P.M.
