The Brown County High School girls golf team finished 6th in the eight-team Western Indiana Conference tournament Saturday, August 23, at Forest Park Golf Course in Brazil, posting a score of 437. While the Eagles' finish was lower than the previous two years when they captured the runner-up spot, they still had reason to celebrate. Senior Chloe Poling earned all-conference honors for the third consecutive year, and junior Caitlynn Lookebill joined her on the all-conference team. Poling fired a 90, the fourth best score in the event, while Lookebill carded a 97, tying her for the eighth best score. Other BCHS scores: Cami Keaton 118. Maggie Gredy 132, and Jazmyn Kolacz 142. "Ben and I sure were proud of our golfers. Cami, Maggie, and Jazmyn were competing in their first 18 hole event, and they hung in there really well. Chloe and Caitlynn played well and showed some consistency. It was certainly gratifying to see them earn all-conference honors," stated co-coach Brad Baughman. The Eagles have only one match this week, a dual with Southwestern Shelby at home on Thursday, August 28. This is a change in the schedule that originally had the Eagles playing an away match with Hauser that evening. WIC Results: Northview 355, Edgewood 380, Sullivan 413, Owen Valley 418, West Vigo 422, Brown County 437, Cloverdale 458, and South Putnam 478. Conference Medalist - Amber Moreland 81, Northview.
