The Eagle golfers picked up a win by default Thursday afternoon at Salt Creek Golf Retreat. Southwestern Shelby, the Eagles' opponent, was unable to field a full team, so the outcome of the match was never in question. Brown County shot a 231, an 18 stroke improvement from their season opening home match. "Although though there was no real feel of an actual match, we needed to get out on the course and play. I was very appreciative of Southwestern coming over even though they did not have a full team," said Eagle co-coach Brad Baughman. Brown County Scores: Chloe Poling 52, Caitlynn Lookebill 55, Cami Keaton 56, Maggie Gredy 68, Jazmyn Kolacz 68, and Nevaeh Caito 70. The Eagles get two more home matches next week, the first on Tuesday, September 2, a dual with Jennings County and then a tri-match Thursday, September 4 with Beech Grove and Indianapolis Herron. "There are only three weeks of the regular season left, and we have eight matches squeezed into those three weeks. It will be fun to see just how much more we can improve," added Baughman.
